Lawn programs to be offered in Stonington, Groton

Stonington – Want to keep your grass green while being environmentally sensitive?

On Feb. 7 and 8, Clean Up Sound and Harbors will sponsor four natural lawn and turf management workshops that are free and open to the public.

The workshops will be conducted by Charles Osborne of Osborne Organics, LC.

He will present “Natural Turf Management: An Overview” on Feb. 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the police department, a program geared to those responsible for maintaining playing fields and managing budgets.

On Feb. 7 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Mystic Arts Center, he will present “The Living Lawn, A Lawn for Living: Simple Steps to Organic Lawn Care” geared to home and business owners.

On Feb. 8 from 9 a.m. to noon he will present “Simple Steps to Organic Lawn Care” and from 1 to 4 p.m. “Systems ApproachTM to Natural Turf Management” at the police station. For more information and to reserve a seat, email osborneinfo@cushinc.org or call (860) 961-7283.
