Stonington – The group Clean Up Sound and Harbors will continue its series of workshops March 14 on transitioning from chemical gardening products to natural lawn and turf management practices.
The workshop is free and will be conducted by Charles Osborne of Osborne Organics, who focuses on taking the mystery out of organic lawn and turf care with simple steps that participants can take away and tailor to specific lawn or field conditions and cost constraints.
Morning and afternoon workshops will be held at the Stonington Police Services Building, 173 S. Broad St. The morning session, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., “A Systems Approach to Natural Turf Management,” is intended for managers of playing fields and public properties, landscaping companies and professionals as well as residential and business property owners who are familiar with organic practices.
The afternoon session, “Consultation on Specific Land Management Concerns,” from 1 to 2:30 p.m., will be an interactive session where individual concerns and issues will be addressed.
The evening workshop, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., will take place at Pine Point School, 89 Barnes Road. It is titled, “The Living Lawn, A Lawn for Living: Simple Steps to Organic Lawn Care” and is for those new to organic lawn care.
