Open house for Mystic resiliency plan to be held May 2

The New London Day 4/26/2023

Mystic ― The Town of Groton is inviting people to attend an open house on the downtown Mystic resiliency and sustainability plan on May 2 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Union Baptist Church.

The town is developing a plan to improve the resilience of downtown Mystic, which will identify the actions needed to prepare for coastal flooding, sea level rise, erosion, and rising temperatures. This is the second of three public workshops being held during the plan’s development.

A brief presentation about the progress made to date and the next steps will take place at 5:15 p.m.

More information is available on the project page at https://www.greatergroton.com/downtown-mystic-resiliency-sustainability-plan on the Greater Groton website (https://www.greatergroton.com).

Megan Granato, the town’s sustainability and resilience manager, is the project contact, and can be reached at (860) 446-5974 or mgranato@groton-ct.gov.

The project was partially funded by a $90,000 grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation through the Long Island Sound Futures Fund Grant.
